The Falls is the newest and most exciting course in West Michigan. Located on a former 230-acre gravel quarry, the land has been shaped into an incredible public golf course. The course offers a challenge for the beginner to the most advanced golfer. The property features a spectacular 34-foot waterfall, beautiful lakes, and mature trees. Breathtaking scenery, dramatic elevation changes and exquisite attention to detail punctuate this original design. The blue grass fairways, Scottish style rough, and sculpted greens give each of the course's nine holes a unique appearance. Experience first hand the course that has critics raving!
The current 9-Hole layout features holes that will be incorporated into both sides of the finished 18-Hole Championship Course. A stunning new par 3 is in its finals grow in stages, and construction is well under way on a challenging par 5!!
HOLE #1 Par 4 Blue 390yds White 350yds Gold 320yds Red 255yds
This scenic starting hole is protected by a mature oak and out of bounds on the right as well as mature fescue mounding on both sides of the hole. After successfully navigating the tee shot, golfers are left with a challenging approach shot to a peninsula green.
HOLE #2 Par 4 Blue 326yds White 304yds Gold 290yds Red 251yds
Do not lose focus after passing the signature waterfall. This hole contains many challenges aside from its modest yardage. Long hitters may be tempted to attack the green, but the wise play is lay up just short of the right bunker. A blind approach to an elevated and tiered green requires shots to the proper level.
HOLE # 3 Par 4 Blue 416yds White 345yds Gold 323yds Red 288yds
This difficult dogleg right requires a precise tee shot as trees and the left and severe slope on the right force errant tee shots into wooded areas. A medium length approach shot to this spacious green forces golfers to concentrate on the pin position.
HOLE # 4 Par 5 Blue 465yds White 430yds Gold 415yds Red 376yds
An accurate tee shot makes this uphill par 5 a birdie possibility. However, mistakes off the tee will easily find the woods that narrow to only 31yards in the landing area. Uphill approach shots need to be well thought out as this green is the deepest on the course and provides a variety of pin positions.
HOLE # 5 Par 3 Blue 138yds White 126yds Gold 110yds Red 80yds
Club selection is of crucial importance on this dramatically elevated par 3. This receptive green is protected by a strategically placed bunker and is requires a lofted short shot should you miss the green.
HOLE #5 ALTERNATE
Par 3 Blue 190yds White 175yds Gold 148yds Red 108yds
This incredible new hole will be open for play at times during the 2010 season! This par 3 will be a true test of a golfer's ability. A long iron to an angled and sloped green over water and rocks will give even the seasoned golfer reservations. Just wait for the "Sunday Pin Position!"
HOLE #6 Par 5 Blue 525yds White 470yds Gold 440yds Red 391yds
Caution and accuracy are required on this tee shot. This par 5 features a notable dogleg left with fescue mounding that inhibits tee shots through the fairway. Layups and approach shots must contend with a winding slightly downhill terrain that is well guarded by fescue left and right. An errant shot will certainly make par a good score.
HOLE #7 Par 3 Blue 124yds White 100yds Gold 90yds Red 65yds
This relatively short par 3 maintains several formidable defenses. Water guards against short shots and a very shallow green make distance control a must. A small bunker in front and a mature tree on the right force tee shots to be accurate.
HOLE #8 Par 4 Blue 365yds White 312yds Gold 290yds Red 240yds
Our 1/2 mile pond runs the full length on this narrow par 4 and runs a constant reminder to stay left. A safe layup shot is suggested off the tee as trees and a narrow stretch make driving accuracy tough for even the most most skilled player. A bunker protect the green on the left so the water might need to be challenged for a close approach.
HOLE #9 Par 4 Blue 322yds White 299yds Gold 281yds Red 260yds
A fun closing to a round, this hole features a great risk reward for those that wish to cut the slight dogleg and attack the green. Out of Bounds right and left as well as fairway bunkering and fescue do serve as a reminder that you cannot make this attempt with reckless abandon.
